ALOR STAR: Another three flood relief centres were opened in Kubang Pasu district, bringing the total to four relief centres with the number of flood victims increasing to 496 as of 8am from 219 yesterday evening.
Kubang Pasu District Civil Defence Force officer Kamarulzaman Kasa, in a statement, said the latest relief centres were in Surau Kampung Betong, which accomodated 94 people from 18 families, Surau Kampung Tebing (67 people from 17 families) and Kampung Lahar (100 people from 22 families).
As of this morning, 235 people from 59 families were also seeking shelter at the relief centre in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Changlun, which was opened yesterday, he added. — Bernama
