Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Kamisah Bt Johan, Group Executive Chairman of Rembawang Holdings Sdn Bhd, a property development company, was awarded the ‘Ikon Wanita Dalam Hartanah’ Award at the ‘Anugerah Personaliti Industri & Usahawan Malaysia 2018’ at a ceremonial award night at Sheraton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on the 19th of April 2018.
“Being recognised as a woman icon in this industry is truly an honour for me. It is my hope that more women entrepreneurs will be making waves in the property arena by rising up and taking up the challenge of leading both the property investment and development sectors,” said Dato Kamisah.
Dato Kamisah, who is a self made entrepreneur in the property industry, received this award for her outstanding work over the 8 years as a leading woman entrepreneur in a male dominated field. Dato Kamisah who started her career in the hotel management line, moved into the property industry in the year 2001, developing a passion for this segment ever since.
She founded Rembawang Holdings in the year 2009. As an entrepreneur, her early years saw her successful dealings with property investment. Her business acumen, creativity and spirit of excellence have led her into developing properties of her own with three upcoming development projects in the pipeline under Rembawang Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Her upcoming projects include commercial and residential developments with a gross development value (GDV) of more than 600 million, catering to a niche market segment. These three projects are made up of the ultra high-end Teringin @ Sri Ukay in Ampang comprising 25 luxury homes built with Heritage concept with Colonial and Peranakan influence, Solitaire Suites Kuala Lumpur which are luxury suites and serviced apartments, and serviced apartments in Seremban Jaya, Negeri Sembilan.
Dato Kamisah’s vision as a property developer is to provide homes for people who appreciate quality and durability. For her, it is not about the dollars and cents, but providing a unique space. “It is not just about sellable space, but also not compromising on quality. You have to sell a property that you will want to live in,” she added.
Rembawang’s developments are set to hit the property markets in the upcoming months, a milestone for the company as a property developer and the beginning of a new journey for Rembawang as they move into becoming a leading brand name in the property development market in Malaysia.
