KUALA LUMPUR: A student pursuing an accountancy degree at a private university pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court here today to a charge of exposing his genitals to a man, last July.
Muhammad Firdaus Johan, 23, made the plea after the charge was read before Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som.
He allegedly committed the offence of intending to insult the modesty of a person by performing a lewd act of exposing his genitals to a 24-year-old man working in a private company, at the sauna room of a condominium in Jalan Sentul Pasar, here at 9 pm, on July 21.
The man was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail sentence of five years or a fine or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin prosecuted while Muhammad Firdaus was represented by counsel Norizan Yaacub.
The court set bail at RM1,000 with one surety and fixed Oct 17 for remention. — Bernama
