PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health (MOH) envisions more social sectors including education to be opened if the number of daily positive cases remains low at one or two digits after the festive season.
Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham, said the ministry would determine the next step in the implementation of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) based on the statistical findings.
“The CMCO’s enforcement strategy has been fruitful. But the question is when we will improve or change the strategy.
“Our concern is the festive season. Next week and the week after that, we will monitor our daily cases and if it remains with the achievement (for now), the lowest two digits or one digit, then we will make a decision on June 9.
“The decision will take into account the festive season. We hope more of the social sectors will be opened including education. Timing is very important,” he said at a press conference here Thursday.
Dr Noor Hisham also hinted that any decision would be announced after June 1.
